The CALA conference was an opportunity to meet with other local, national and international Aquafit enthusiasts and share your ideas and knowledge.  Those who attended left with new skills and knowledge that they can apply immediately to their Aquafit classes.

Those who attended all share a love for movement, whether it be vigorous or gentle, athletic or rehabilitative, group or one on one!

Message from Charlene

Enjoying where you are... the conference was amazing. The volunteers were exceptional: Dawn, Cindy, Karen and Leslie. The facility was absolutely perfect thanks to Leslie and her team. The delegates were so much fun - lots of laughter and moves galore. And special thanks to Michelle McLaren, CALA trainer extraordinaire and CALA West Conference Coordinator who pulled it all together. Plus of course, huge thanks to Darin Dieterch who flew all the way from Germany to present in Canmore along with Charlene Kopansky, CALA Founder and President from Toronto.

Volunteers

The CALA volunteer team went "the extra mile" to make the event the great success it always is. Our volunteers are multi-talented, acting first and foremost as ambassadors for the CALA organization.  We thank the volunteers for their contribution in the following but not exclusive to:

  • Picture taking

  • Trouble shooting

  • Setup and cleanup

  • Taking attendance

  • Decorating the host facility

  • Controlling the music and sound

  • Serving meals and refreshments

  • Distributing and copying handouts

  • Welcoming delegates and presenters

  • Promoting and marketing the conference

  • Answering questions and directing candidates

  • Organizing the pool facility including equipment

  • Helping at the CALA booth... and so much more

  • Setting up the theory and practical dry land sessions

  • Providing administrative support at CALA headquarters

  • Distributing handouts, collecting and collating feedback forms

  • Welcoming, assisting and familiarizing delegates and presenters

Pictures of Canmore and the Conference

Attending a CALA "Exclusively Water" Conference leaves you on top of the world awaiting new challenges.

Charlene and Darin sought out new inspirations to give you an exciting session.

Darin can't hold back his excitement of leading his sessions and meeting other Aquafit enthusiasts.

Ready for a creative, fulfilling and exuberating conference.  Can't wait to "Catch the Wave"

It was worth the wait.  Experiencing a variety of classes makes you realize the endless class possibilities.  You are also reminded how important water and exercise are for everyone.

Thanks go out to our great volunteer team who help make the conference a great success.

Everyone in the pool for an unforgettable session.

Another exceptional conference. It is always great to see other Aquafit leaders and share stories.

See you in 2008 for another CALA "Exclusively Water" Conference. Plan to attend as a participant, presenter, guest speaker, volunteer or trade show vendor.
