PEI's SUMMERSIDE WELLNESS CENTRE OFFICIALLY OPENS January 2008

The residents of Summerside PEI will now be able to enjoy the benefits of a modern, multi-purpose recreational and business facility. The new structure includes: two NHL size ice surfaces, one with stadium seating for over 3,600; a walking track; 2 pools, hot tub and wet/dry sauna; bowling lanes; two squash courts and a fitness facility. There is also a 4500 square-foot convention centre which includes three meeting rooms, each equipped with a food service area. It combines excellence in terms of the quality of facilities with the access to participation for not only professional athletes but also the local community. Recreation Centres are an important aspect of the future growth and prosperity of Island communities, and the provincial government is pleased to have provided funding support for this endeavour. The Wellness Centre's athletic venues are expected to play a major role when the province hosts the 2009 Canada Summer Games. This facility was built for use by people of all ages and will be here for many years for our citizens to enjoy.

CALA is proud to announce that several of the aquafitness staff are CALA trained and certified. Upcoming courses and workshops are being planned. Keep the upcoming page for upcoming events.  If the course or workshop you are looking for is not scheduled, please contact CALA to discuss your requirements, there might be an opportunity for your facility to host the event. Knowing what people are interested in helps CALA plan future events.
